Confessions (Latin: Confessiones) is the name of an autobiographical work, consisting of 13 books, by St. Augustine of Hippo, written between AD 397 and AD 398. Modern English translations of it are sometimes published under the title The Confessions of St. Augustine in order to distinguish the book from other books with similar titles, such as Jean-Jacques Rousseau's Confessions. Saint Augustine of Hippo

Saint Augustine of Hippo (354-430) was an early Christian philosopher and church father whose writings heavily influenced the development of Western Christian philosophy. Born in the Roman province of Numidia (now Algiers), he was drawn to Manichaeism, and later to neo-Platonism. After fathering a child out of wedlock at age eighteen, he became a celibate priest and later became the bishop of Hippo Regius in north Africa. It was then that he began writing the works that would become iconic touchstones of early Christian thought, including The City of God, On Christian Doctrine and Confessions.

Terrible choice for a reader. Why would librivox delegate such a lofty reading to someone who drops the "g" in every gerund and /or past participle pronounced, resulting in a listening experience akin to overhearing an illiterate street thug discourse on theology. I mean no offense to the reader, he's just the wrong choice for this assignment. A bit more Higgins, a lot less Dolittle......
