About this audiobook
Two sides. Two hearts. And a gulf between them as deep and wide as eternity.
"This tale brings a turbulent time to life with nuance and sensitivity."
JOCELYN GREEN, award-winning author of the Heroines Behind the Lines Civil War series
Virginia, 1861
After being forced to use a pistol against invaders, Evelyn Mapleton is no longer the timid girl her extended family expects. The more her aunt and cousin resent her new independence, the more Evelyn is determined she'll make her missing father proud by taking up his cause and aiding Confederate soldiers--even if she has to outmaneuver the Yankees guarding her home to do it.
Samuel Flynn's life is consumed with two priorities: learning to become a proper guardian for the young orphans he's adopted and obtaining his physicians license. When his final testing sends him to a Federal Army field hospital, the last thing he expects is to be entranced by a mysterious woman. But when Evelyn's misguided exploits put her life in danger, will he risk everything he's worked for to save a woman he thinks is his enemy?
Based on first-hand accounts from the Civil War and with a strong romantic thread, this is a tale of faith, espionage, hope, and courage historical fiction fans won't want to miss.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Title: Eternity Between Us Author: Stephenia H. McGeePages: 356Year: 2018Publisher: By the Vine PressMy rating: 5 out of 5 starsEvelyn Mapleton has yet to find her place in society while staying with her aunt in the south. However, Evelyn soon learns that she won’t ever fit into society even though she longs to. Evelyn’s father works as a newspaper man in Washington, and since Evelyn hasn’t heard from him in a long time, she sets out to find him. Without plans or the means to provide for herself, she soon learns what a risk she is taking as tensions within the nation and families are growing. When Evelyn reaches Washington, she realizes she must get a job to provide for herself while trying to locate her father. She soon meets Samuel Flynn who is working at a hospital to earn his doctor’s license. Evelyn is hired, and she sets about to bring aid and comfort to all in need. Samuel is being held back by the administrator of the hospital. All of Samuel’s friends are full-fledged doctors and practicing elsewhere. Why is the hospital administrator holding Samuel back by refusing to sign the document that allows Samuel is license? When the author reveals the motives of the administrator it heightens the tension in the novel, and drew me even more in the book! There are many threads woven in the wonderful story of hope, friendship, loss and perseverance. Eternity Between Us is the first book I have read by this author. I found her knowledge of the period shows through the tale but doesn’t cover up the telling of the tale. Inside the layered romantic suspense are many characters whose true allegiance and motivations are slowly revealed, heightening the tension of the novel. I enjoyed Evelyn and Samuel’s story set in a turbulent time in our country’s history. This is a stand-alone book and because I enjoyed it so much, I plan on reading more by the author soon. Grab a copy and enjoy traveling back in history where romance, chivalry, and courage abound!Note: The opinions shared in this review are solely my responsibility.
