About this audiobook
What if you had to choose between facing your past and finding your future?
Loch Battersby is the kind of famous that everyone in Manhattan wants to be. The first female in the modeling industry to work exclusively as a male model, she’d become wildly successful by the age of twenty-six. Then in a single day, everything spins out of control, and she finds herself in Innis Harbor, on the windswept coast of Maine, where she’d spent her childhood summers.
As the city smog finally clears, she realizes that not everything in her life was as it seemed.
Amir Farzaneh built her Innis Harbor construction company from the ground up, despite the challenges of being a woman in a field dominated by men and ever-present opinions of her conservative Persian community. When she meets Loch, a dark secret from her past reappears, threatening the life she’d managed to build in spite of it and the happiness she’d started to believe could be hers.

Great until the multiple twists, which lost the book a star
This book was earning 5 stars from me from the beginning until the twist, then it dropped to 4. The complicated multiple twists were unexpected and very intense. I enjoyed the interactions between the main characters and some of the supporting characters. The main characters are different and unique and I really enjoyed their personalities, backgrounds and situations. They were so cute together! Then the twists happened and threw me for a loop. I liked the plot and the twists, but the twists were jarring and interrupted the really great love story that was developing, and then we never got much time to recover from all the drama. I was really loving the romance and the ending was happy but not enough to make up for the drama. And I really didn't believe some of the resolution, why and how someone did what they did, and how it was all forgiven so quickly. I can see it being forgiven, but not so immediately. And I don't know why the plot was cooked up and how they were surprised it went that far. It was complicated!
I listened to the audiobook, so I can't really judge the writing itself, but I didn't hear many errors. The narrator was very good in spite of low production values. There was one instance in the book where the narrator repeated a line. I'm assuming the line was repeated in the book, so the fault would be the author's.
