I had no expectation that American women playing baseball in 1943 would resonate so strongly with me, as a Londoner who never did more than half-heartedly whacking a rounders ball in PE. But that’s the beauty of A League Of Their Own. Its representation for the modern audience is as flawless as it is joyful.
