About this audiobook

It’s Tessa and Weston’s first Christmas together, and Tessa is determined to make it the best holiday ever. But when her estranged mother shows up with a suitcase and plans to stay for two weeks, Tessa’s hopes are shattered.

Bitter from the past and still holding a grudge, Tessa is in no mood to give her mother a second chance. The holiday season may be a time of reconciliation with family, but Tessa believes her mother will never change. Why get close when she’s just going to leave again? Tessa realizes there is only one way to save this Christmas: avoid her mother as much as possible.

With the best intentions in mind, Tessa chooses to not tell her mother about Weston’s disability. But when they meet face-to-face, Tessa is mortified and ashamed by her mother’s insensitive remarks. Weston begins to think he is the real cause of Tessa’s shame. His old demons resurrect to haunt him with doubts: What if, one day, Tessa stops loving him because of his disability?

Determined to prove his love for her, Weston makes it his mission to be the best boyfriend ever and works to reunite Tessa with her mother. Meanwhile, Tessa plots elaborate ways to avoid “mother-daughter time” at all costs. One scheme leads to another, until Tessa finds herself tangled in a web of deceit — and, worst of all, lying to Weston.

When the secrets between them force Tessa and Weston to face their greatest fears, they must confront the inescapable question: Is true love worth the risk of heartbreak? Is it ever too late to forgive and start over?

The Best Christmas Ever is a heartwarming holiday follow-up to 100 Days of Sunlight by Abbie Emmons. You’ll love this touching story of forgiveness, family, and first love.

I love how the author continued to grow the characters! They still had growth, trials, and wins. It wad such a sweet story and I would love to learn more about the fate of Tessa and Weston.

Another heart warming sweet read by Abbie Emmons with all the good feels, life lessons, and teen romance required of a young adult book!

Not bad, but there were SO many cringe moments. But like, if you scratch all that, the story is better than 100 days of sunlight since it’s less creepy. Weston was definitely written better in this book—but I rolled my eyes at “all the girls at school are in love with you” part. But overall I loved tessa’s mother and loved the argument scene.

Book 2 is so sweet and loving as it moves forward with Tessa and Winston blooming relationships. I’m hoping there is a book 3.

I originally liked the first book ‘100 Days Of Sunlight’ and when I found out there was a second book, I was very open to reading it. It didn’t exactly meet my expectactions because now, as I’m writing this review, I realized there are a few things I disliked about the book. I enjoyed listening to the audiobook and had an easy listen and enjoyed the moments throughout the book with Tessa and Weston, of course but also appreciated the time with their family members and just the holiday vibe. But thought it was too sappy at times to a point where I had to cringe big time. Like after a bit, I got annoyed of how almost every place Tessa and Weston were going. Tessa was always saying “Oh, it’s so romantic” Instead of perhaps just enjoying the time.

This might just be because romance isn’t my favorite genre but I thought there was a bit too much mushy-ness, and I would have preferred more moments than them just kissing and romantic moments and a bit more, perhaps adventurous things with them together, like, for example, ice skating with the family. And don’t get me wrong, I definitely liked some of those moments, but overall it seemed a bit too much in a way. Especially when it all crashed down to the drama moment. But I do think that a person that loves romance would like this.

At times when Weston was a bit insecure, I kind of got frustrated because the things seemed very simple to solve (kind of how Rudy was putting it) but he was putting a blockage in his mind, which I can understand from what he’s been through; but I got a bit frustrated.

One thing I do wish happened was that Tessa’s grandparents were in the book a bit more. I know that in the first book they were definitely not front and center, but they were there enough for me to wish that they had more appearances in the second book. Overall, I liked the first book more than the second because I felt like the first book had more plot and interesting things happening. I definitely did get a bit teary-eyed in some moments of the book, so I was for sure emotionally invested in the book, but overall I wish more stuff happened. Good book but not great for me.

Abbie Emmons does it again! Literally obsessed with her work! 100 Days of Sunlight and Best Christmas Ever are my new favorites and I have a feeling will remain that way for quite some time.
