About this audiobook
In Elena's world words have power over life and death—but none more so than hers.
As the daughter of shopkeepers, Elena has always known that the mysteries of reading and writing are closed to her. Only the mageborn can risk harnessing the power unleashed from putting pen to paper. Until Elena discovers an impossible new ability and joins the elite ranks of the mages.
But with the kingdom at war, the authorities can't agree if Elena is an asset, or a threat they need to eliminate. Thrust into the unknown world of the Royal Academy without friends or experience, Elena will need all of her wits, strength, and new power to carve a place for herself.
Except as the threats to both Elena and the kingdom mount, wits and strength won't be enough. Elena will have to turn to new friends and an enigmatic prince to unlock the mysterious potential of her words—because both her life and her people depend on her becoming stronger than she ever dreamed possible.

Melanie Cellier
Melanie Cellier grew up on a staple diet of books, books and more books. And although she got older, she never stopped loving children's and young adult novels. She always wanted to write one herself, but it took three careers and three different continents before she actually managed it. She now feels incredibly fortunate to spend her time writing from her home in Adelaide, Australia where she keeps an eye out for koalas in her backyard. Her staple diet hasn't changed much, although she's added choc mint Rooibos tea and Chicken Crimpies to the list. She writes young adult fantasy including her Spoken Mage series, and her Four Kingdoms and Beyond the Four Kingdoms series which are made up of linked stand-alone fairy tale retellings. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Awesome series narrated well. Fantastic storyline and female lead character
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This book series was perhaps the best series I have ever read/ listened to. The characters were well developed and there was a ton of growth as the plot went on. I was totally immersed in the world and believable characters. I loved that the author put so much thought into the friendships of the main character and pulled out everyone's strengths. Don't miss out on any books by this author she has a way with words that is captivating.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Truly amazing series!!! I very much plan to read it again! Hope to read more from this author in the future!
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Ughhh! Such a good story that slowly built and made a magnificent world until like last 2 hours that drastically just wraps it all up. I feel unfinished and disappointed I spent hours learning all that apparently useless knowledge to be left hanging. I hope it really wasn’t the last ....
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I loved this book series!! The author has once again totally sucked me into a book series I couldn’t put down!! Such an enjoyable read!!
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Really good there is a little too much lip biting for me but the rest is engaging
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This series is an exquisite blend of adventure, fantasy, mystery, suspense, love stories, and fairytale. The characters are so well developed and the different layers upon layers of new information, that even the reader is not aware of, is an amazing feat! I plan to suggest this series to as many people as I can think of, who have even the smallest interest in anything similar.
A big thank you to the author for sharing such amazing works with us readers. I hope to read more similar works in the future. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Stunning! The plot had me wanting more but also afraid of what's coming. I binge read this series and I just couldn't stop.
The Narration was fantastic! I really liked how she did the voices.
Just enough of everything; adventure, fantasy, suspence and romance.
The world was well thought out, especially how the magic worked. I liked that they could all access every discipline instead of like exclusively being a fire mage ect.
The characters were fun and just complicated enough. Although I feel there could have been more everyday experiences if that makes sense.
I would definitely recommend this for any teen or young adult.
Thank you Melanie Cellier, Shiromi Arserio, and Scribd for this amazing series.?
