About this audiobook
BARNABY GRIMES is a tick-tock lad, running errands in his city, day and night, and "highstacking" around the rooftops in search of new mysteries to solve. In this first adventure, Barnaby is attacked one night by an enormous dog and soon finds himself swept up in a world of crooked doctors, poor and ill-advised patients, strange tonics, and very expensive furs. . . .
Paul Stewart
Paul Stewart is the very funny, very talented author of more than fifteen books for children, including The Edge Chronicles, a collaboration with Chris Riddell.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Ah! Fast-paced, well written, exciting, and the supernatural to boot! How can you lose?
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5i recommended this to my intermediate students and they liked it. This is a clever story, set in early London, about a tick tock lad named Barnaby. Barnaby uncovers the underhand dealings of a quack (illegal doctor)who uses destitute people as guinea pigs. He gives them a so called effacacious elixir that turns them into werewolves, which in turn he kills for their pelts for the fashion market. A great, easy read, that is not too complex.
