Willie Robertson stars in A&E®’s hit show Duck Dynasty® and is the CEO of Duck Commander, a family operated business that creates products for duck hunters including duck calls, clothes, and videos. Willie, along with his wife and business partner Korie Robertson, also owns and operates Buck Commander where they create products for deer hunters. Willie took the family duck call making company from a living room operation to a multi-million dollar business. Willie lives with his wife, Korie, and their four children, John Luke, Sadie, Will, and Bella, in West Monroe, Louisiana.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5If you love their show, Duck Dynasty, you will absolutely love this book. Willie and Korie, along with the rest of the Robertson family, own and run the multi-million dollar company Duck Commander where they make and sell duck hunting products. This book is their story.We learn the roots and secrets of the Robertson family that are not portrayed on the show. Phil was pursuing a college education and played football and had a teaching degree but gave it up to hunt ducks and once left his family but eventually he found God and thankfully his wife, Ms. Kay, forgave him and accepted him back into their lives. Phil invented the double reed duck call and that is how Duck Commander got it's start. Phil and Kay ran Duck Commander out their home for years. We also learn of the childhoods of the family members, specifically Willie and Korie. They didn't come from the same backgrounds but they learned to use both to their advantage. They went to college, married, had kids, and eventually took over the family business Duck Commander and later opened a second branch called Buck Commander where they sell deer hunting accessories. And finally we learn of the failures and successes of each person in the family, their faith in God, their hopes for the future, and their passionate love for family and ducks, and food!! They love food and there are quite a few family recipes in the book.I love these guys. My husband and I watch every episode and even watch the mini-marathons when they come on. We also have some of the episodes recorded on our DVR. If we are feeling down we put it on. It seems to take you away from your worries and troubles for just a little while and is sure to make you laugh. We all know laughter is good for the soul! One of my favorite Bible verses from the book is this:I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances, I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do all this through Him who gives me strength. - PHILIPPIANS 4:11-13My favorite character from the show is Ms. Kay. I just love Ms. Kay. I want to give her hug and help her cook. It was interesting to see how the Robertson family started The Duck Commander and how things all began for them. I loved how much they relied on God to help them through the rough times, they're such great examples of how to live life, depending on God. It sure is awesome to read how God changed Phil's life around for the better, how they give all the glory to God for their success in life.I absolutely loved that Willie and Korie decided to adopt, it has been something that I personally want to do some day. I read this at the same time as my husband, we're both really big fans of the show, and it was really fun to do that. I'm looking forward to Phil's book coming out in May, going to be another great read!”

These to are a great example of family, faith and wonderful values. I love their personalities as they both shine right throuh in this book. Love the recipes at the end of each chapter and hearing the stories of how each of their children came to be in their lives. I really enjoyed this one :)

- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5As a fan of the show, I know these people have high values and morals, and are a great influence for kids growing up in this generation, and it really is an excellent book, just maybe not for teenagers (the only reason I gave it 3 stars, instead of 5). It’s basically an autobiography about Willie Robertson, with some parts written by his wife, Korie. It started out talking about how they struggled as a family, barely making ends meet, and I thought that would be inspirational for kids who might be going through the same thing; but then he got into the business side of things that teens probably wouldn’t be interested in. It was a great, quick read, but not really what I was expecting, and perhaps for older teens, if that.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Disclaimer first: I am not a Duck Dynasty TV show fan. I am a vegetarian, non-hunting, beach girl, this is not my lifestyle. I have seen maybe 4 shows and really enjoyed Si, and his offbeat ways,which made me curious. Then my much loved and repeated neighbor said he loves the show and the family and gave me this and another book written by family members. He talked about where this family came from with admiration in his eyes so I gave it a read. I thoroughly enjoyed their story and gained respect for them and their journey. I learned, again that the media is not the best way to judge a person or a family. I never saw any hate, nor any malicious words toward anyone in the pages. No, I found quit the opposite.
What a strong family these Robertson's have built. They fought through some tough times. They lived without many of the things we take for granted and survived with grace. They graduated college, they excelled in sports, these people are more than given credit for. Willie and his wife take us down the path of their grandparents, their parents, to them and finally to their children. They all played into the cards of this story, every card being an important play. This is what family is all about. I thought it was fascinating and about so much more that red-necks and duck hunting.
Quick and dirty-I love a good tale of fighting spirits who followed their hearts. if that is what you're looking for give this one a try.
