It's so weird to rate someone's (and a famous one at that) memoir one less star. However, this had to be done, I felt like getting whiplash throughout because of the disorganization of the timeline. Other than that, I wish nothing but the best for Elliot Page.

Tedious, nonlinear, confusing, indulgent, filled with pointless details (the thump of the airplane wheels landing on the runway on his mother's return trip from Paris before he was born!)

I found Elliott's experiences around an unhealthy home life, not having boundaries, and learning about himself up through his 30s incredibly relatable. The other experiences he shared around gender disphoria gave me a deeper understanding of how it may affect a person. I found him humble and vulnerable. Not a light read but totally worthwhile.

Incredible book, the narrative is expertly and poignantly woven, and so special to have the privilege to hear Elliot read it himself. The Canadian references, the daily experiences, made me feel connected to the author through his openness and honesty and capacity to own his own experience. I'm so grateful to have listened, I'd recommend it to anyone, older or younger, radical or more traditional.

PAGEBOY was my most highly anticipated book of the year, and it did not disappoint. Elliot Page's candid reflections on his trans identity and family dynamics were truly captivating.
While some reviewers already mentioned a lack of cohesiveness in the book's structure, I appreciated the non-linear narrative style. That being said, I think grouping similar stories would have made the book even stronger.
Despite this, I still consider PAGEBOY to be an important work that promotes visibility and understanding of the trans community. Overall, it was a fantastic read and one that I highly recommend.
