Cormac McCarthy
Cormac McCarthy was the author of many acclaimed novels, including Blood Meridian, Child of God and The Passenger. Among his honours are the National Book Award, the National Book Critics Circle Award and the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction. His works adapted to film include All the Pretty Horses, The Road and No Country for Old Men – the latter film receiving four Academy Awards, including the award for Best Picture. McCarthy died in 2023 in Santa Fe, NM at the age of 89.

Billy, un adolescente que al iniciar la narración no tiene trece años, aprende sobre la condición humana en los tres viajes que hace desde Nuevo México, donde ha vivido desde que tiene memoria hasta México, primero para llevar una loba, después para buscar junto con su hermano menor unos caballos que eran de su padre y después para buscar a su hermano. Con una prosa delicada, pero no por ello afectada y que no teme a la crudeza, McCarthy lleva a sus lectores por Nuevo México, Arizona, por el nororiente de Sonora y el noroccidente de Chihuahua.
