Choice of the Cat is a fine follow up to Way of the Wolf.Once again, the descriptions and settings are wonderfully written. This time, much action is taking place in the midwest, and the area's near the great plains. Choice of the Cat begins with Valentine and the Wolves seeing a lot of action, and a major battle. The Twisted Cross still bothers Valentine. This story revolves around his efforts to bring the Twisted Cross to the attention of the Southern Command. There is a lot of action, adventure and new knowlege of Grogs, Twisted Cross, and quislings in this installment. I'm eager to start the third book in the Vampire Earth.

Enjoyable tale. Less of a vampire book and more of a military adventure with futuristic overtones and a touch of fantasy.

If you liked the first book in this series, you'll like this one about the same. The story is very similar - just different "events' but, basically, Valentine saves the day. This one does have a bit less detail on the alien life forms (why, who, what) and is more military adventure than science fantasy (more like David Weber's March Upcountry than a post apocalyptic novel).Anyway, it's entertaining, violent, satisfying, non-political and non-cheesy so I'd say give it a go.
