Exactly what I expected it to be. Delightful snippets from NPR, some traditional, some less so, now, remembering that I have it, I might listen to it again.

A lovely compilation of NPR's stories on the topic of Love. I'm a huge fan of This American Life and other human interest podcasts, so this was really right up my alley.I've always wished for a more organized ways of listening to the treasure trove of NPR content, and I think organizing stories around a theme is just the perfect way of collecting these gems of stories.

I've listened to some of NPR's Driveway Moments compilations and this, like the others, are just interesting, entertaining, little vignettes. Such a nice break from the new reality (ie reality tv) to some true human interest.

This is a pleasant collection of stories with the common theme of love. It was not the compilation that I was expecting to hear, i.e. all heartwarming love stories, but it brings home the idea that the definition of love is broad. Pieces range from touching and tender to edgy, a couple of them bringing a tear to my eye or a chuckle and some that I found downright boring. All in all I enjoyed listening to the two CDs in the car and would recommend it, as there is something for everyone. The introductions by the host, Kelly McEvers, and the musical interludes were well done.

A series of short radio pieces that examine many types of romantic love. The variety means that every listener will probably find at least a few stories that speak particularly to them, though it also means that there will certainly be selections that don't touch them either. Probably not something I'd re-listen to it is entirety again.

These truly are moments that I couldn't get out of my car, and had to listen until the story ended. My favorite, that not only brought tears to my eyes but also to my husband's eyes, Finding Love and Gaining a Grandaughter. So beautiful in how's she tells her granddaughter about her life and how she finally finds acceptance. This is a wonderful CD.

An audio anthology of essays from NPR about love in all of its forms, the "driveway" referring to stories so good that the listener who arrives home in the middle of one will remain in the car in the driveway and listen to the end. There are 25 essays, about 2 hours, and it's the fastest 2 hours you'll know unless you limit yourself to a few at a time. All were interesting, and perhaps half developed a "driveway"-worthy narrative. I was most disappointed to hear Lyndon Johnson's love letters to his future bride when all I could hear in my mind were his inappropriate phone calls to widowed Jackie Kennedy. I was most happily surprised by the story of how Alzheimer's, decades after an acrimonious divorce, can replace the acrimony with tenderness. I was most heart-broken AND heart-warmed by the last story, about the foreign adoption of a child.Makes me interested to listen to some of NPR's other Driveway anthologies.
