About this audiobook

The darkness that haunts him, threatens to destroy us all . . .

I thought Jovan had returned to me, but he's still lost. He's a shell of the brave wolf I once knew, distant to me and his brothers. I have done everything I can to heal him, but it's not enough to purge the demons from his soul. He can't access his wolf or his mighty protector. Shame drives him further away.

There's only one thing left to be done, Jovan's last chance to heal, and I'm that desperate to save him I just might do it. But how can I ask his sons to do the unthinkable? To return to the one place that can doom a wolf to an eternity of misery: the forest of every wolf's nightmares.

Contains mature themes.

I tried... But admittedly, not very hard. I read the first book that allegedly followed the titliur menage (Book 4) because I really do enjoy a good multicultural-menage-paranormal book. Unfortunately it wasn't.... I was so, so disappointed to find that one... The author put a cringy amount of weight on mates being precious, pure shifter virgins while simultaneously making the only Black heroine in the series... you guessed it... not pure, virginal... or shifter. Oh wait... there was another mated Black woman in there too... Who was also... Not a virgin. Eye roll to the Ancestors....

Two... Very little of the book was about the featured menage, it instead focused again on all those virginal snowflakes and their very adoring, very protective alpha mates, while giving the impression that Eliya's mates were "settling" for her sullied and imperfect self because... fate. If given a choice she wouldn't be theirs... just saying. Oh the sacrifices!!! Blech.

There... Now that I vented about that... On to why I DNF this one. (Book 8).... Let me put it this way ... The first sex scene was not with Elyah and her mates, the featured menage, I remind you. Nooo... it's with a different menage that had their own book TWO books before! Allow me to reiterate.... A full open door scene of a different couple. An. Open. Door. Sex. Scene. I felt like I walked into the wrong book and boy were my red.... Mostly because I said last time I wouldn't pick up another book by this author and I did anyway, but I digress

In short... It was more of the same... I'm pretty much done with the author and this series. Will not be continuing with either. For real this time.

Narrator is THE WORST. Mispronounces everything and no emphasis on words, no accent. I would give the book 5 stars, the story definitely gets 5 stars but the Narrator makes it hard to sit through. Wasn't pleased with this one it was hard to keep listening to all the way through.
