About this audiobook
In the U.S. Marine Corps, the most dangerous job in combat is that of the sniper. With no backup and little communication with the outside world, these men disappear for weeks on end in the wilderness with nothing but intellect and iron will to protect them-as they watch, wait, and finally strike. But of all of the snipers who ever hunted human prey, one man stands above the rest as the most legendary fighting man to ever pull a trigger.
That man is Carlos Hathcock.
Silent Warrior tells the incredible story of Hathcock, with harrowing, never-before-published accounts of courage and perseverance. These are the powerful stories of a man who rose to greatness not for personal gain or glory but for duty and honor. A rare inside look at the U.S. Marines' most challenging missions-and one man who made military history.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Great story of a great American during a very difficult military period which deprived honor from so many, not at fault.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Henderson wrote Marine Sniper, the first book about Hathcock's exploits as a sniper in Vietnam. His publisher at the time forced him to reduce the size of the book for economic reasons. This volume is made of the material from that cull. It to reads like fiction as did the first volume. Hathcock is a legend in the Marine Corps and amongst marksmen of any stripe. In this book, we learn more about the recovery from the burns he received in Vietnam and his follow up career teaching in the Marine sniper school. We also learn of his contracting MS and how it eventually destroyed his body and took his life in 1999.
