About this audiobook
Robin Loxleigh and his sister Marianne are the hit of the Season, so attractive and delightful that nobody looks behind their pretty faces.
Until Robin sets his sights on Sir John Hartlebury's heiress niece. The notoriously graceless baronet isn't impressed by good looks, or fooled by false charm. He's sure Robin is a liar-a fortune hunter, a card sharp, and a heartless, greedy fraud-and he'll protect his niece, whatever it takes.
Then, just when Hart thinks he has Robin at his mercy, things take a sharp left turn. And as the grumpy baronet and the glib fortune hunter start to understand each other, they also find themselves starting to care-more than either of them thought possible.
But Robin's cheated and lied and let people down for money. Can a professional rogue earn an honest happy ever after?
Contains mature themes.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Do we expect anything less from KJ Charles? I certainly do not. This book was thoroughly, wonderfully perfect. Hart and Robin had a fantastic relationship (and their own individual) arcs. Absolutely delightful.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Delightful! Classic charming KJ Charles for you. I was quite surprised, there wasnt any murder, mystery or violence. But the story was intreguing and compeling. Loved it.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Loved this book. Could not see how the protagonists would ever get along but the story was clever (and saucy!) and so it became a marvelous love story. Great narration as well.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Something about this just worked so well for me! I absolutely loved the characters and the ways they all bounced off one another and complimented each other's personalities. By the end I was so invested in the outcome that I was very satisfied in the ending. KJ Charles is such a good author, I'm about to read their whole backlist
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Superb writing from K.J. Charles as always! I love the way she makes me grow to love her characters. The ending had me grinning and almost cheering aloud.
Although I'm not sure I liked Cornell Collins for the audio. His voice suited The Will Darling Adventures perfectly, but it felt too rough here.
4.5 stars - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I read this for MM Book Club.
What a joy. I don't usually like period books. Rich people are usually so boring. But Robin and Maryann's back story and search for stability is really interesting. Grumpy old Heart goes from villain to hero seamlessly. Robin's bravery and Heart's loyalty make for a wonderful inevitable coupling. Love it!
