- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5An incredible deep dive in the trapped mind of anyone who has ever been wronged and could not get past it. The lure of the suffering mind to pay back the offenders even at the cost of integrity thus becoming the very thing that triggered his suffering to begin with. Funny, thought provoKing, entertaining cautionary tale on the thoughts we entertain and follow through with . Loved it.
- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5I wish I could get these missing hours of my life back! I think this is the first time in my life that I have disliked a novel this much. My hubby & I listened to it on the road & we both thought it was absolutely TERRIBLE! Several dozen “scenes” dragged on for several minutes (or more!) when they should have been 1-2 minutes long. Neither of us can say anything good about it.
That said, we listened to Dekker’s 49th Mystic books & absolutely loved them. Try one of those instead. - Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5This book was too drawn out for the ending to be subpar.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Lots of twists and turns to keep you engrossed in the story. Intense and engaging. Great story
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This goes with the Martyr's Song series and was another powerful message. Some of the plot was pretty far-fetched and the dialogue was a bit cheesy, but overall I loved the book.
- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5I really wanted to like this book. In fact, I was -expecting- to like it, which probably makes it even worse. I've heard so much about how amazing Ted Dekker is, but... eh.None of the characters come across as...well, anything. They're all incredibly dull, and the plot isn't good enuogh for me to not care about the flat characters. I got fifty pages in, flipped through the rest, and decided that I really couldn't take reading another three hundred pages of it.I'm going to read some of Ted Dekker's later stuff, and I seriously hope it's better.
