The dream became a reality when she was hired to dance in a movie which was being produced by Michael Franzese. She eventually married him without knowing the full details of his past-a past that included his being a former member of the mob. Shortly after the birth of their first child, Michael is incarcerated and their lives change drastically. Cammy Franzese's memoir, This Thing of Ours: How Faith Saved My Mafia Marriage, is an in depth look into an unconventional marriage.Cammy writes that "I am eternally grateful to my mother for giving us the gift of faith. Her commitment to God, her children and her husband left a legacy for me to live by". Time and time again, the legacy gives her the resolve she needs to provide stability for their children while Michael is in prison. She acknowledges and accepts the choices she has made and because of her faith she honors her commitment to Michael. She details the difficulties she encountered while visiting Michael in prison. She endured the shock of being arrested herself. Every challenge placed before her makes her stronger.This is a story of faith,inspration and a belief in values.
