About this audiobook

There's a ghost on the loose-and a fox in the henhouse.

Four years ago, the Eternal Slumber Funeral Home put Chicken Teater in the ground. Now undertaker Emma Lee Raines is digging him back up. The whole scene is bad for business, especially with her granny running for mayor and a big festival setting up in town. But ever since Emma Lee started seeing ghosts, Chicken's been pestering her to figure out who killed him.

With her handsome boyfriend, Sheriff Jack Henry Ross, busy getting new forensics on the old corpse, Emma Lee has time to look into her first suspect. Chicken's widow may be a former Miss Kentucky, but the love of his life was another beauty queen: Lady Cluckington, his prize-winning hen. Was Mrs. Teater the jealous type? Chicken seems to think so. Something's definitely rotten in Sleepy Hollow-and Emma Lee just prays it's not her luck.

Contains mature themes.

    Fascinating Mystery!

A colorful cast of characters populates this humorous ghostly mystery. I was kept guessing until the very end and then I was totally surprised as to who the actual murderer was. Kudos to the author.

The second in the series: I like the characters, I like the humor, I like the ghosts, & I like the stories....Emma Lee & her sister Charlotte have taken over the family's undertaker & funeral parlor business.... Charlotte on the business side & Emma Lee on the undertaker side. When Emma Lee is hit on the head by a falling plastic Santa Clause and she begins seeing the ghosts of people her family has buried... unfortunately all those she sees have been murdered and it is up to her to help solver their murders so that they may cross over.Colonel "Chicken" Teater is sure his wife murdered him.... at least that is what he tries to convince Emma Lee of, but as she begins to investigate Chicken's death, she uncovers several more unsavory characters who all wanted to be on the receiving end of Chicken's promises of fortuneA light, fun, & entertaining read

In this second book in the series, Emma is trying to solve the murder of Chicken Teater, who arrived announcing that he had indeed been murdered and they needed to dig him up to prove it (Chicken passed away four years ago). So Emma tries to help while coping with prize chickens, missing mopeds, and beauty pageants. These books are just fun. They are really fast reads and the mystery is OK too. They are a bit chaotic and sometimes a bit hard to follow. But I still enjoy them. I really like Emma and am still trying to sort out her family. Sometimes they seem less than supportive so I really don't know what to think of them. But her hunky policeman boyfriend is a doll. I will be reading the next in the series.

Nice mystery, but annoying "southern" mannerisms.

4 STARS This is book two in the A Ghostly Southern Mystery. I have read both books and have enjoyed them. A Ghostly Grave starts by digging up a grave. They know he was murdered four years ago because his ghost Chicken Teater told Emma Lee he was poisoned. Emma Lee runs her family business, the Eternal Slumber Funeral Home with her older sister. Emma is the undertaker. After a head injury Emma sees ghosts of murder victims. Her family think she is crazy. Her boyfriend believes her. Sheriff Jack Henry Ross is now investigating the death of Chicken. He wants Emma to stop investigating and just tell him what Chicken says. Chicken Teater was married to a former Miss Kentucky. He enters his chicken Lady Cluckington into contests and doted more on her than his wife. If his wife wants to inherit from Chicken she has to keep Lady Cluckington well and continue to enter her in contests. Emma can not stop investigating Chicken's death. Especially with Chicken always going with her and telling her stuff. This has lots of humor, drama, mystery and action. With a small town southern flavor of characters. I would read more from Tonya in the future. I was given this ebook to read from Harper Collins and agreed to give honest review of A Ghostly Grave.
