About this audiobook
Accustomed to an opulent life with her aunt, the last thing twenty-five-year-old Isabella Garcia wants is to celebrate Christmas in her parents’ small silver-mining desert town, leaving her handsome beau, Diego Morales, behind in California.
Adding insult to injury, she must bear the company of Aaron Bailey, the disapproving Santa Fe Railroad businessman her father has sent to escort her home, who clearly finds her spoiled.
But she is surprised to see how much the town of Silver Veil has grown and how fragile her father’s health has become. Then a surprise visitor shows up with news that entirely upends the comfortable life she’s been leading.
Faced with all these changes, Isabella struggles to sort through her future and who she wants to be. But trouble is brewing, and there are those who hope she stays just as she is, even if it costs her everything.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I love this book it was very hard for me to put it down. It was a very easy read, and you can follow the story. It's about a young girl losing her faith and finding it again. I did not think that the ending would end the way it did. I just thought the girl was a spoiled brat and was entitled to everything. Wow I was so wrong. I will recommend this book and Author to everyone.

A good clean adventurous romance novel. The main character shows positive growth through the book- a good message about forgiveness and not holding on to hurt feelings and seeing beyond one's self.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Title: Beyond the Desert Sands (Love on the Santa Fe #2)Author: Tracie PetersonPages: 304Year: 2022Publisher: Bethany House PublishersMy rating: 5 out of 5 stars.Love on the Santa Fe is a wonderful series where the tales are centered on the town of San Marcial, New Mexico. The first book in the series, Along the Rio Grande, tells the readers about Susanna Jenkins and how she was recently widowed, relocating to the town. As time goes on, Susanna’s life is about to get fuller as she falls in love while attempting to aid her parents as they go through a readjustment period. In Beyond the Desert Sands, the main character is Isabella Garcia who, at first, is a young, spoiled woman who cares only about her world. Isabella’s world is upended when her family moves to San Marcial. Her heart yearns to return to the place of her youth in California. A man longs to pursue a courtship with Isabella but his past shows a man of less than reputable character. Aaron Bailey is a young man who has been asked by Isabella’s father to come work for him with the goal of taking over his responsibilities. Aaron though has longed to work for the Santa Fe with the goal of becoming upper management for the company.Tracie Peterson gives audiences a story filled with romance, faith, mystery and suspense. At the beginning of the book, Isabella is a woman who seems devoid of respect for her parents or anyone else. When she meets Aaron Bailey, she tries to push him away and defy her father’s wishes to marry the man he believes God has chosen for her. Throughout the story I was mesmerized by the love and faith of her parents and their unending pursuit of her heart. The main premise of the story seemed to be the choice between centering life on oneself or being more of a servant to others. There are probably more themes in the book, but this is what stood out to me.I highly recommend the works of this author who can tell a great story, include history in an interesting way, and leave this reader wanting more. In fact, the third book in this series is to be released this October titled, Under the Starry Skies, and I can’t wait to read it!Note: The opinions shared in this review are solely my responsibility.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Beyond the Desert Sands is the story of Isabella Garcia and the small silver-mining town her father and mother founded in the desert. As she faces challenges and struggles, she grows as a character. I voluntarily read this complimentary copy of this well-written book. I love Tracie Peterson's books!
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Beyond the Desert Sands is book two in the Love on the Santa Fe series by Traci Peterson. This is a Christian romance set in 1911 in New Mexico. As a young child, Isabella's parents moved the family to a small mining town. As a young lady, she pushes her parents to allow her to move to her aunts in California. When her parents have her come to them for Christmas she is not happy to leave her aunt's home, her friends, activities or her boyfriend. This is a nicely written story that shows the importance of communication. Had Isabella's parents explained the true situation to her, her life would have been different. She would have know the importance of the move. This is a story of forgiveness, second chances and having faith. I especially enjoyed the part of the story when Isabella was told the truth. I can appreciate how she felt about the time that was lost. I enjoyed the questions raised about her boyfriend and how his father responded to them.I voluntarily received a complimentary copy of this book, this is my honest review.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Easy read, good historical fiction, Christian themed. Although the story is very predictable it is still entertaining. I enjoyed it and would recommend it to others!
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5It was very hard to like Isabella at first. She was just a spoiled brat. All she could focus on was how her life was terrible because of her parents. Her parents are very different people. They are warm, loving and easy to forgive. Aaron tells her that she is ungrateful and spoiled. That doesn't sit will with her. When she finally starts to realize the reason for her parents' actions, she re=evaluates her whole life. All along Isabella is determined to marry Diego but after being apart from him, she realizes that he isn't the man she thought he was. Aaron is very close to Isabella's father and her father thinks of Aaron as a son. He wants Aaron to take over all his business dealings and take care of Isabella's mother and Isabella when he is gone. He isn't sure that is what he wants. While he is trying to make a decision, everything is changing. Can he and Isabella ever see eye to eye on anything? Will she finally quit being a brat?
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Beyond the Desert Sands was an enjoyable read and thought provoking as well. The story of a daughter who doesn't understand her father's decisions for her life and turns her back on both of her parents is written to show how God the Father sees His children when we turn our backs on him because we don't have enough faith to trust that God does know what's best for us. Yet he allows us to follow our own path (free will) hoping we will find our way back to Him. Set in New Mexico at the time when the Territory became a State, the description of the land and the people who lived and worked there make this well worth your time. This title is the second in the Love on the Santa Fe series. I've already found book one in the series at my local library and look forward to another good story.
