      I loved, “Last Winter We Parted” by this author.
      And this one was listed on a “Best Books of 2022 list” so I was eager to give it a try. However, it was too dark for real enjoyment because the plot was convoluted. There was no plot twist or spark that thrilled me.

      This book was a strange reading experience. Quite surreal at times. Nakamura presents readers with an investigation into human behavior and revenge. The characters are manipulated to such an extent that is hard to determine what is real. I was confused at times but found myself compelled to continue reading.
