The pace of the story felt realistic, the dialogue was not cheesy, and family/friends didn’t balk about their loved ones being gay. As someone with anxiety, I was impressed by Levi’s commitment to let George lead and make the decisions with which he is comfortable. I think people always expect gay men to have anal sex because that’s what ‘sex’ is basically considered to be, but the story didn’t go there because George wasn’t ready. The author even made a point of having Levi assure George that sex is what you make it; couples can decide that for themselves. I could see this being made into a movie, honestly.

Beautiful story. I wished it was me in there and it helps that the narrator is my absolute favourite storyteller. I truly enjoyed it. Is there a clean slate ranch in real life?

omg I felt like I was in a 9 hour group therapy session. I groaned everytime I heard "thank you for sharing your truth". Had I been actually reading it I would have skipped to the end..it's not like I would have missed any sexy part.
