This narrator war a wrong choice for making the smug, lackluster MC come alive. Bianca Amato might actually be 46-47, same as MC, but her voice sounds 20 years older. It is her voice that should be used for many 60+ female MCs who are wrongly given the quavering vocals of a nonagenarian.
Emma Dakin, as author, is ultimately to blame of course for the blankness of Claire (MC). She supposedly attracts all good, warm feelings from her new friends, and more than one suitor. But the only real warmth she exudes is toward her pet. Said pet was the only character I really liked. But even dear Gulliver cannot draw me back for any more 9+ hour slogs in this vapid village.
