Lorraine Heath

Lorraine Heath always dreamed of being a writer. After graduating from the University of Texas, she wrote training manuals, press releases, articles, and computer code, but something was always missing. When she read a romance novel, she not only became hooked on the genre, but quickly realized what her writing lacked: rebels, scoundrels, and rogues. She’s been writing about them ever since. Her novels have been recognized with numerous industry awards and have appeared on the USA Today and New York Times bestseller lists.

My favorite of the series. Well written. Nice flow. At the mention of Inspector James Swindler, I find that I have another series to read.

It was a pleasure to read Rafe’s story. I’m glad the Lost Lords found their ways back to each other and back home

When Evelyn's father dies from a illness that slowly killed him, she has little time to mourn. Her brother, immediately orders her to her room. Then he makes her go to a planned meeting, Evelyn thinking, it is to meet future suitors for marriage. Little does she know that her brother is trying to sell her to the highest bidder as a mistress, not a wife. She gains the attention of Rafe Easton. Rafe's only interest is to settle his debt with Geofrrey, where he see's the most gracious and elegant young woman, who stirs his blood like none other. When he see's the other men bidding on her, he knows he can't let anyone else have her but himself. So he takes her, only when her brother brings her to him, she has no inkling of an idea of why she is truly there. Evelyn, is shocked to the core, when she learns the truth she is devastated that her own brother would betray her this way. She knows that if she doesn't become Rafe's mistress, she will live a life on the streets with no home or food and any place to call her own. She knows that this is the only recourse available to her. First she doesn't expect for Rafe to give her time to get used to the idea, but she never thought he would be wooing her in a way. Rafe has a very tough exterior, but she knows that there is more to him than meets the eye. She finds herself falling in love with a man she knows would never love her in return...For he can only fight his demons.Lord of Wicked Intentions is the third installment in the series by Lorraine Heath. After reading the first two, I had been looking forward to reading Rafe's story. Rafe is very different I think from his brothers. He suffered in a way they never did, he barely managed to survive. He resists his brothers attempts to befriend him, and always rejects their offers for family gatherings. Rafe is a hardened man, who on the outside appears to care for nothing and for no one. He feels alone, always has since he was ten years old, when his brothers abandoned him. He didn't understand the why for it then, and now that he does, he can't seem to forgive himself for the horrible things he has had to do, so he is unable to forgive family. But when he meets Evelyn, his life changes. He see's his life in a whole different light. She brings laughter, hope and love into his life. I truly adored Rafe, I found his to be utterly irresistable, dangerous and sexy in a way that just appealed to me. He is the kind of hero you just ache for, but admire for his strengths. Evelyn, hasn't suffered like Rafe has, but she doesn't judge his past life. She see's something good in him, and in her own way fights for him. I love the inner strength and will she possess to not run from her circumstances that she has been dealt. She handles it very well, and I loved her courage at times. Overall a heart wrenching, that just had me in tears at various times through the book. There were so many moments that I had to stop and control my emotions. A Magical read that had me from the first page, a story that will pull at your heart strings and leave you aching for more. Another great work by a talented author that has never let me down!!! A exciting read filled with romance, love, and take you on a journey with these characters...one you will never forget.Favorite quotes"I have particular needs. The first is that you are to never wrap your arms around me.""Why not?" She whispered"Because it's what I require." He lowered his lips to hers, and she realized that if he hadn't menacled her wrists that her arms would have twined about him of their own accord, simply to ensure that she remained standing when her knees grew so weak. His tongue toyed with her mouth, painting it, outlining it as though he wanted to be intimately familiar with it.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~For a moment in his mind, all th eglobes he'd collected over the years spun. More than a hundred, spinning, spinning. He'd been searching for someplace better that where he was. He'd finally found it, the best place of all--wrapped tightly in Eve's arms.

I had given the first two books 3 stars each. They were enjoyable and worth reading, but not extraordinary for me. So I was especially surprised when I liked this one so much! Multidimensional characters, interesting events, growth, a minimum of characters acting ridiculously just to further the plot. I had expected to like Rafe the least of the brothers actually, he seemed to hold so tightly to his grudge in the previous books, but I ended up finding his struggle the most compelling. I am encouraged, and will read more from this author.

2nd read- I like this couple a lot and they're given excellent hurdles to overcome in order to reach their HEA. Heath writes their internal deliberations so engagingly that I'm just reeled in to their story more and more as it goes along. A very enjoyable read.

The last few chapters got a bit meh-meh but most of the book was pretty good. Definitely my favorite of the series.

It is impossible not to not fall for Rafe. He prowls and commands with a raw, sensual energy. Nothing is unattainable, nothing stands in the way of what he desires. He's also heartbreaking. His childhood was so awful that those demons still haunt his soul. Rafe is tragic, lonely and tortured. His weary heart buried and scarred.Eve is innocent and sweet but she's not unwise. As she comes to terms with her situation she begins to trust Rafe. With this trust she reveals a charming boldness and playful cheeriness that can't help but bewitch Rafe. She is a very likeable pragmatist which makes Rafe's growing desire and respect for her believable.Eve's unfiltered affections and loyalty revive Rafe's battered heart. He is her protector but she becomes his salvation. With her he begins to live life with less fear and anger. Their mad attraction grows into a deep and desperate love for one another. I didn't want their story to end. This is a very satisfying conclusion to the Lost Lords series. My favorite of the three.

I really wanted to like this one but had a hard time warming up to the hero. I've read other books along the plotline of the "heroine becoming a mistress" but had big issues with this one because I felt like she was pushed into a corner by the hero. I won't get into too much detail but early in the novel the hero essentially shows her the darker side of London and what will become of her if she doesn't accept this life. I was really uncomfortable with that and couldn't warm to the hero afterwards.

A thrilling conclusion to the Lost Lords Series. Well Done Lorraine Heath! This is a story of redemption, acceptance and love. Evelyn Chambers never understood her place in society. As the illegitiate daughter of a lord, she lived a sheltered life with her father, never knowing what the world really thought of her. Upon her father’s death, her half-brother sells her off in order to pay a gambling dept. Evelyn thought he was arranging her marriage. Imagine her shock when she is delivered to Rafe Easton’s door to be his mistress! As Rafe proclaims to be a cold, heartless beast, Evelyn sees a bit more to him than that. She’s determined to make the best of the situation, even if that means tearing down the walls Rafe has built around his heart one brick at a time.Rafe Easton took one look Evelyn Chambers and knew he had to have her. Once in possession of this passionate beauty, he discovers how truly innocent she is. Yet there’s something about her that seems to undo him whenever she’s around. How can a hardened, heartless man, take such care and have such patience with a head strong slip of a girl? As Evelyn pushes him to his very limits, he finds all he wants to do is please her. How is it that he’s never cared to have acceptance and love from anyone else, but needs it from Evelyn? As Evelyn and Rafe battle to find their place in society and with each other, they both find the answers and peace they are looking for. With the help of the other Lost Lords and their wives, the last Lost Lord of Pembroke finally finds himself again.I love the Lost Lords of Pembroke Series and have patiently awaited the arrival of this conclusion and was not disappointed. This was my favorite of the three books, though I loved the others as well. Watching Rafe, the secretive, ruthless, independent lord finally make peace with his demons and his brothers was so emotional for me, I actually found myself tearing up at one point! I loved the way Rafe had to work through his past in order to give Evelyn everything she desired and deserved. This book took the old adage “Love Conquers All” to a whole new level! After all, everyone deserves a second chance at life. I would recommend this book, and this series to anyone who loves historical romance. You simply can’t go wrong.
