- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Sanbo Kyodan koan enlightenment porn. Autobiography interspersed with creative writing exercises when recounting his kensho / enlightenment experiences. I enjoyed 'A Straight Road with 99 Curves: Coming of Age on the Path of Zen' much more -- another autobiography covering sanbo-zen lineage. No complaints on quality of audiobook. Author does a fine job narrating his autobiography. The book provides a current glimpse of the innerworkings of sanbo-zen --an update to 3 Pillars (his repeated criticism of Kapleau seemed petty and ingratiating to his sanbo zen leaders) and 99 curves.
