About this audiobook
George Orwell
George Orwell (1903–1950), the pen name of Eric Arthur Blair, was an English novelist, essayist, and critic. He was born in India and educated at Eton. After service with the Indian Imperial Police in Burma, he returned to Europe to earn his living by writing. An author and journalist, Orwell was one of the most prominent and influential figures in twentieth-century literature. His unique political allegory Animal Farm was published in 1945, and it was this novel, together with the dystopia of 1984 (1949), which brought him worldwide fame.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I loved this book!!! The political and sociological analysis accomplished through this social satire is timeless and ironically honest. Animal farm explores how, through sensationalization and fanaticism, the fragility of democracy and political transition presents the opportunity to amass power, allowing totalitarianism to rise under the pretense of communist ideologies (which is fairly indicative of the historical context of the book). Overall, Animal Farm is a very short read which reaches depths of sociology and politics that will forever brandish this novel as a classic and literary masterpiece.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Of course the book is great and a classic, but beyond that the narrator was phenomenal. Brought the story to life so well that it seemed more audio drama than simple reading. Highly recommend, very timely as well.
