- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5An appealing story about Madeline Finn and her dog Star who is testing to become a therapy dog at the retirement home. The unadorned prose and engaging illustrations of Madeline Finn and Star interacting really center the heart of the story: caring and patience can make a difference.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Some picture books just make an adult tear up and this one did it for me. Madeline Finn is a little girl training her dog to be a therapy specialist. But there is one man at the nursing home that will take a bit extra to make you smile. This is a lovely tale and the illustrations match. There is a bit of diversity in the characters, but not much.
