About this audiobook

When a sink hole opens up near the Australian outback town of Pintalba, it uncovers a pristine cave system. Sam joins an expedition to explore the subterranean passages as paramedic support, hoping to remain unneeded at base camp. But, when one of the cavers is injured, he must overcome paralyzing claustrophobia to dive pitch-black waters and squeeze through the bowels of the earth.

Soon he will find there are fates worse than being buried alive, for in the abandoned mines and caves beneath Pintalba, there are ravenous teeth in the dark.

As a savage predator targets the group with hideous ferocity, Sam and his friends must fight for their lives if they are ever to see the sun again.

I generally enjoy books in the genre of The Cavern, but I found this book boring. The characters were incredibly dull, and I can barely remember three characters’ names two hours after finishing the book.

While the book had potential, it simply did not have the atmosphere as, say, some of Greig Beck or Katie Berry’s books. The continuity also seemed all over the place, and the editing could have been tighter.

The way the book ends hints at a potential sequel, but I will not be interested. While the book isn’t terrible, there are better books in this genre to be read.

Well done book and narration. Great horror story, vividly depicted with no sign of holding back. Loved the characters, wish there was just a little more development to make your heart scream when they met their demise but that doesn't mean it impacted them or the story any less. Loved the creature and the way the author gave you understanding of its thoughts/behaviors with the start of its development of human understanding, speech etc. Action straight away that keeps going with never a dull moment. 1 more star if the author would have twisted up the plot a bit more, story line has been done before with the difference being this one was done very well.
