It is really hard for me to write reviews for series enders, because it is sad to leave characters that I have grown to love and invested so much time into. So, this will be short, spoiler free. I was drawn right back into the world of Tobias and Tris in this bittersweet conclusion to the series. Though I did rush through the middle because it slowed down got too weighty in the middle, it picked right back up. There were lots of surprises, and things I both expected, dreaded and couldn't wait for. I loved getting into Four's head and getting his perspective. It was an added bonus in this and gave us some valuable insight. Tris is as strong as ever, even though she has her flaws, that makes her even more relatable, and easy to like and pull for. She has the recklessness, but also the courage and sacrifice that defines her. There is non-stop action in this one, tying up loose ends and resolving all of the plots. OMG. The ending. I am one of the people who are torn. I hate it and saw it coming, but at the same time I love it and think it is fitting. It depends on what moment you ask me. Bottom Line: Fitting and bittersweet trilogy conclusion.

So we find out about the background of the cities, the mess that was made, the complicated background needs some fixing which won't be without sacrifice and the end was a bit of a sucker punch.It's an interesting world, an interesting series and well done. Quite readable.

I am so glad my bookclub talked me into reading this. I was so disappointed and rather bored with the middle book, after such a great first book. When I saw that a lot of people rated this low, I sort of figured that the author may have lucked out on the first book and just went downhill from there. She was very young after all. But I discovered that was not the case. This book was very interesting, definitely rivaling the first book, for me. The case of the author not being good enough was just not true. She is very talented, and made the point she wanted to make, in my opinion. I had prepared myself to be disappointed at the ending, thinking the rest of the book would be worth the read at least. But I didn't mind the ending at all. Very well done. Super excited to see the movies!

This makes many people start to question what is possibly outside the barrier between their civilization and what they don’t know. The third book Allegiant, by Veronica Roth, flips the whole trilogy upside down as Tris and others discover what is behind the walls. This science fiction novel, takes the reader on a action-packed quest full of hardships, intriguing situations and a romance between Tris and Tobias. Facing reality at a whole new level, drama arises every turn of the story and ends with an unsuspecting and thrilling ending that will leave readers at the edge of their seats.I believe that the book Allegiant was a great read with alot of running around and barely surviving most of the time. But on the other hand, the crucial ending was disappointing for me, as I would expect more information on what happened next. The ending seemed to stop too soon and was a result I disliked. This novel would be a favorable book for middle school aged kids who like to read a science fiction aspect on trying to create the “perfect society”. As it is based on the future of our world, it gives readers a fictional view of a possibility of what our world might look like later on, destroyed and fought over. Overall, I liked this ending novel of the Divergent series, Allegiant, and am eager to read more Veronica Roth has wrote.

I can't bring myself to finish it. The last 2 books - amazing! This one just keeps spiraling deeper and deeper well... Into garbage. I like strong female characters. But strong female is not achieved by making the male lead extremely whiny and wussy. One day I will finish it, I will. But that said, the first two books are extremely good, hard to put down reads. The 3rd one was rushed. And I heard about the ending from spoilers, but still, the road to that ending is not good.

I'm in a love-hate relationship with this book.

First of all, I liked how their world is better explained here. But it was a too-little-too-late kind of thing. I struggled with the sense behind the factions for the first two books, and I wish they were explained earlier on, but I couldn't find a way how Roth would without spoiling all the fun prematurely.

But then the history is revealed continuously and ruthlessly. The information becomes overwhelming, I guess. And we're taken from one rebellion to another, before we even make sense of the previous one.

Most of the characters are also one-dimensional. And what's infuriating is that these very same characters are the ones playing God in their own little world. Oh, morals are tested here, all right.

Second... THAT. ENDING. It was bullshit! Tris deserved a much better conclusion. It was so unfair. She got out of death's way a couple hundred times, and she gets helplessly shot by a wretched guy in a wheelchair, who by the way (and this is the worst part!) will eventually forget who he was due to the memory reset and the gruesome fact that he killed her! HOW COULD YOU, ROTH? How could you let Tris be killed by some worthless guy?

I was so mad. And don't get me started on Four- his grief was what made me shed tears.

But I guess some things were necessary. And in the end, I will grudgingly admit, these events were reasons the book was good, too. It's a hard thing to swallow, but we can't have happy endings all the time.

3.5 stars it is, then.

I have read that many people were disappointed with this book and the ending of this series but I liked it. Not every book is going to end with the happiest of endings or exactly the way you think it should be. I do think the ending makes sense with the way the characters have behaved throughout the series.

I did not enjoy this book as much as the first two. I never really got into it, and the plot just didn't do anything for me. The ending did shock me, though I respect what Veronica Roth did. Honestly, I was hoping it would end the way it did. Tris learned so many lessons throughout the trilogy, and the ending corresponds to that. It was still a good book; it just didn't quite meet expectations.

“I have to agree with some of the other reviewers, that this is not what I was expecting. I was still pretty interested, just wasn't too happy with the way things went down. The ending just really made me sad and just didn't agree with the way I pictured it ending.I did enjoy having Four's point of view in the book, to understand his actions and decisions was nice. I listened to this series on Audible, so having the two point of views did not confuse me at all. I was sad to end this series and wish it ended differently. I don't know if I hyped the 3rd book up in my head too much or what, but I was a little disappointed.”

This book brought a major change in formatting as the author started to alternate the narrative voices (if you're a longtime reader of the blog you know how I feel about this narrative device) between Tris and Tobias. Because I had grown accustomed to reading things from Tris's perspective it was difficult for me to get into the rhythm of Tobias. For the majority of the book, I wasn't fully convinced that Roth had a good grasp on his 'voice'. The reason for this shift in formatting became clear as the action of the story was divided between the two characters and to stay with Tris would mean missing out on half of the picture (which would have made it impossible to flesh out the ending of the series). This series reminds me of Harry Potter in that as the books continue the story becomes gradually darker and the maturity of the characters is accelerated due to some (or many) struggle(s). That should give you a hint as to how this series ended. I don't want to give it away but I will say that I charged through the ending hoping that I had somehow misread what had happened or that some kind of sci-fi scenario to occur which would then fix everything. Did it? Well, I guess you'll have to read Allegiant to find out.

Allegiant seemed very small, plotwise, compared to its predecessors - the Allegiant were not focused on enough, the uprising was not scary enough, the relationships were not emotional enough, and the ending was outright disappointing. It was not shocking, or unexpected or even sad - it was just... not enough.Apparently Veronica Roth was trying to be original - no happy endings for Divergent fans, guys! I have no problem with sad and tragic endings, to tellyou the truth. But the ending of Allegiant felt completely pointless. And rushed. And to tell you the truth, I did not even notice the frickin' main character dying. After that, all the chapters were once again rushed, and very, very insignificant. The intricate politics of Divergent world resoled themselves out of the blue.I really feel that this trilogy deserved a better... everything.

Loved this book. I was a little surprised by the ending, but it makes sense based on the story as a whole. Veronica Roth definitely knows how to captivate her readers. At times I felt like the book was rushed, but then others it felt a little slow. Those parts were the minority though.

She was sick of being controlled and categorized by the government. Allegiant by Veronica Roth completes Tris’ story in the third book of the Divergent series.The book goes back and forth between Tris and Tobias’ point of views showing a variety of characters opinions and what's happening with other characters than Tris. Tris and Tobias’ personalities are similar but not exactly the same making them have a strong relationship throughout the book.Christina is Tris’ best friend who helps her through a lot of the struggles she faces throughout all three of the books and Tobias has friends of his own but gets mixed with the wrong crowd a couple times.At the beginning of the story everyone was still in the city and a group started forming against the new government and they called themselves allegiant. A few of the cities members decided it was time to leave and try to find a new place for them to live. This group included Tris, Tobias, Christina, and a few others. The group left the cities being aware of the dangers that came along with leaving and a few died to save others or trying to find freedom from their city. As the story progressed the survivors from the group found a compound where the majority of the story takes place. The group of friends face struggle after struggle at the compound but face them all with confidence.Allegiant was an overall good book filled with excitement and danger around every corner. The story kept my interest throughout the entire book and had me waiting to see what happened next. The book is targeted for all ages to read and people who like action and excitement and who want to know how the Divergent series concludes.

Now they are outside the wall and they learn where their culture (their existence) comes from. All of those who went outside seem to take different views on it but they all believe they need to protect what is inside. They know they need to find a way to stop the violence but they have little idea how. When Tris comes up with the plan to dose the compound with the memory serum she is acting on the belief that this is her only option. She doesn't want to do it but she feels she has no other choice. It seems like Tris is the one who is always making the hard decision for her people. And when she finally understand what her life is worth? What her parents died for? I think it made me like Tris all that more. She was no longer this damaged girl who just wanted to get rid of all the sadness by giving up her life but she finally understood what her chose would do. And she did it not out of desperation but out of love for her friends and family.Four also had a hard choice to make. Which family member to reset and which to keep the way their were. Was this the right choice? Should he be able to make that choice for another human? I think either decision Four would make would stick with him permanent. but than he decided to talk with Evelyn instead of resetting her and he got what he wanted, love. A person to choose him over all else. Even Tris couldn't do that.Peter was a boy who did not like himself but did not know how or want to change. He felt that the only way to change was the reset himself. And that just made me so sad. I may not have liked him and he did do some terrible things. But to feel like you need to completely lose yourself to be a better person?

This book seems like it was written by a different author. It was written in first person (POV of Tris or Tobias.) The changes in setting was difficult to see at times. It was very frustrating to read.

The final straw was about a third into the book. I did finish it but was very disappointed with the book.

I thought this book was genius. I loved it first of all because it was a veronica roth book and i love her books. And because it is also a page turner, And also it is part of the divergant series. I love also how it is a clif-hanger sort of because you really dont know what to expect. Unless your good at predicting stuff :pI thought this book was a grade a book.

This last book is worth grinding through the issues with the previous two. The feels of the last few chapters were too strong making them the best in the series. Also, the addition of Tobias narrative adds a lot to the flow and details of the story. It is just refreshing compared to the teenage Tris narrative.
