About this audiobook
After spending three years in the English world, Anna Beiler has come home. She brings with her a baby girl, which will surely cause a stir since Anna is unmarried. She is also hiding secrets: The baby is not hers by birth, nor does Anna intend to stay. Rather, she desperately needs sanctuary from the child's violent father...
It surprises Anna how quickly her Amish habits return to her and how satisfying it feels to reconnect with her father, her sister Leah, and her brother Joseph. Even Anna's childhood friend Samuel, whose slow, thoughtful manner used to frustrate her, becomes a fond and reassuring companion. But Anna hasn't fully faced the consequences of her irresponsible youth, when her behavior led to a tragic accident. And now her mere presence may endanger the family she holds dear. How easy it is to return to the safe and familiar community whose blessings she once took for granted. But if she wants to stay, Anna must seek forgiveness and experience the true change of heart required to make a new beginning.

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Anna Beiler has spent 3 years living in the English world. Now she is returning to her Amish home with a baby girl and lots of secrets. The baby girl is hers, but not by birth. She is returning home to seek sanctuary from the child's violent father (but doesn't feel she can share that with her Amish community). She can't decide to stay or eventually leave again. But as she reconnects with her family and childhood friend Samuel, she finds it harder and harder to make a decision about where she belongs. This is a young woman you would have met in the previous stories. I really appreciate how this author shows the turmoil and thought process of folks in the Amish community and how hard it would be to make that commitment after being in the English world. I also appreciate their emphasis upon forgiveness and how important that is in anyone's life. I can appreciate this author's Pennsylvania Dutch roots and her life spent in rural Pennsylvania as she writes a realistic view of the Amish community.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This book had a storyline that was written with excellence!
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5In this third installment, Anna returns to the Amish community and her family after being gone for three years in the English world. But she does not return alone. Bringing a baby and fearfully running from the baby’s father, she flees to the world she left, seeking refuge. Stronger in mind and determination but also having her headstrong tendencies tempered by thoughtful restraint, she tries to again be Amish. But she is torn by her reasons: does she really want to regain the faith and community she left or is she just looking for a safe haven for herself and her baby? Anna soon finds herself drawn into the lives of those she loves, into their joys as well as their sorrows and problems. And into the affection of her sister-in-law’s brother. Can she leave all this again? And will the danger she fled find her anyway? A well-crafted story, thought-provoking as well as entertaining, this meaningful tale gives us a taste of what it really means to be part of the Amish community.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Book three of The Pleasant Valley Series has Anna Bieler returning to her home and family with a child. Anna adopted the baby when her friend died and now the baby's father, who signed the adoption papers before the baby was born, wants her back and has tracked Annie home.Marta Perry has again succeeded in bringing her characters to life. I was confident I knew how the book would end but still found myself unable to set the book aside for long. There were tears in my eyes as Sam faced Pete (the baby's father) in the barn. I am looking forward to Book Three in the series.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Anna's Return was a thriller and romance rolled into one. It was very refreshing. This one kept me on the edge of my seat to the end.Anna Beiler had spent three years in the English world after running away from her Amish roots. Now she is back with her adopted daughter Gracie. This is sure to cause a stir. Her plan is to stay there until she and Gracie are safe. Gracie’s father Pete signed away his rights before she was born. Her mother gave her legally to Anna before she died. Now Pete wants her back and will do anything to get her.Anna’s plans were temporary she thought. The Samuel entered her life. She finds that what she had run from can be mended and forgiveness is there for the asking.I absolutely love Amish fiction. I hate to say it but it is one of the very few types of romance stories I will read. I love the simple life, the budding romance and the Christian lessons all wrapped up in one book. Marta Perry did an excellent job with her characters. You could feel the fear and pain in Anna’s situation. We can all relate to doing something stupid and fearing we will not be forgiven. I look forward to reading more of her books.
