About this audiobook
Desiree Le Mire ran into the cave, anxious to explore, tempted by the legends of Inca gold. Harry Lamar and his brother Paul had no choice but to follow. After all, they could not let the beautiful dancer enter the black depths alone.
Others lived there, however, protecting the gold of their ancestors, others now misshapen after generations of living underground. That was why no one who entered the cave ever emerged into daylight. But no one who had entered was as beautiful as Desiree-or as determined as the Lamars.

Reviews for Under the Andes
5 ratings5 reviews
- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5Typical early 20th-century adventure plot about a lost civilization. I like Stout but others have done this type of thing much better.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5An enjoyable, quick read. typical 1920s adventure/fantasy
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Lots of chasing up and down dark tunnels, Edwardian style. Nero Wolfe should have had this much exercise.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This was a free download for my Kindle from mnybks.net. Written in 1914, it still managed to hold my interested till the end. Its a good old fashioned adventure story, believable enough, and I plan to download more as they become available.
- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5Only read if you like hokey stuff from the 20's. Or are a passionate Stout fan.
