About this audiobook
Abram Ebersol and wife, Ida, are raising their four daughters on a firm foundation of Plain traditions, and he expects the girls to carry on that heritage into the future, safe and secure in their cloistered Lancaster County community. But Sadie, the oldest daughter, has found little appeal in her Amish life compared to the lure of the "English" world surrounding them. When Sadie's traditional rumschpringe before embracing baptismal vows goes terribly awry, sister Leah's life also may be forever altered by their secret pact?
The twins, Hannah and Mary Ruth, have their own distinct and hidden yearnings, and fear clutches at each heart as the two begin to realize where those yearnings might lead. Is the Ebersol family tapestry unraveling too quickly, too permanently, to be repaired?

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Okay, so there's no one on the planet that knows me that is NOT aware that Jerry B. Jenkins is one of my all time writing hero's! I mean, really! Just look what he did with the world reknown Left Behind series!Well, Jenkins has gone main-stream with The Betrayal, keeping it clean, wholesome and with a Christian influence that is just enough to make the unbeliever a little bit curious. And the believer will be impressed at how the power of God can move man, and save man.In this modern-day police drama, Jenkins brings to life a new Christian, police detective Boone Drake, just after he has been wounded in a raid.Drake, affectionately called "Boones", is new to the faith, and has his own inner struggles during his endeavor to catch the bad guys. In a Chicago twist that will rock the CPD, Drake - with a little help from his friends - brings down the bad guys and saves the day!One of the best novels from the streets of today! I highly recommend The Betrayal by writer Jerry B. Jenkins to anyone over the age of 13.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5In his latest release, "The Betrayal", Jerry B. Jenkins spinsa web of mystery and deceit as Boone Drake, "a detective in the Gang Enforcement Section of the Chicago PoliceDepartment" sets out to discover who was responsible for leaking information that got him shot while protecting a gang kingpin that was under police protection.Jenkins provides us with a growing list of suspects any of which could stand to benefit from the kingpin's demise. Will Boone be able to put his personal feelings aside so no stone is left unturned? You'll find it hard to put down this read as you anxiously await to see how it will all play out.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5All I can say is...What a wicked web we weave, when we first practice to deceive. This book reminds me to always be honest and think the best of everyone. Don’t make up your mind one way or another until you get the words directly from the “horses” mouth.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5What do you do when the person that you respect and look up to betrays you deeply? Boone Drake is back and this is that he has to deal with. Because of the way that book 1 ended, I don’t want to ruin it by mentioning the ending here. (Go read it!) Drake also has to decide whether he stands by the person he is beginning to love or believe what the people he’s known the longest are telling him. I have to say that I like the second book a lot better than the first. After reading both there is a marked difference in how faith is approached in the story. But that could simply be because Drake is in different place than he was in the first book. While I felt that things were a little rushed in Book1 , I think that there was an even pace with this second installment. The Betrayal was something that cut deeply both professionally and personally for the characters. It was nice to see the determination back when Drake faced another obstacle in his life. Though his faith was still a work in progress, it was much more a part of who Drake was. The characters had obviously grown and they were digging deeper than before. To be honest I have to admit that I was more interested in the workings of the police department then Drake’s faith. Maybe this was expected because it was not as much as a character (as it kind of was in The Brotherhood) as it was an aspect of a character (as it was in The Betrayal). I wanted to believe that she was innocent, but the evidence was compelling and if not her, the truth was much more devastating. This book was given to me, free, in exchange for my honest review.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5The Abram's Daughters series continues and this book is as good as the first. Keeps you reading and when finished ready to jump into the next.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5A Follow-up to "the Covenant" I liked this one better because It hink more bits of the story was brought out and you got to see the girls a little older and shaping themselves into who they are going to be when they get even older still. Good read.
