The Octavia Hill Chelsea Garden
The National Trust will bring an urban community wildlife garden to RHS Chelsea Flower Show (21-25 May). It’s the charity’s first garden at the show in a decade, and sees it joining forces with Blue Diamond Garden Centres and Ann-Marie Powell Gardens.
The garden will be created to honour the life and achievements of the National Trust’s co-founder Octavia Hill. She worked tirelessly to improve urban housing and fought for access to green spaces. Her belief that ‘the healthy gift of air and the joy of plants and flowers’ were vital in everyone’s life remains just as important today. One in three people in Britain still don’t have access to nearby nature-rich spaces.
