PRACTICAL SCOOTERIN G Part 14
I’m an engine man through and through. Once I start getting bogged down in chassis stuff (cables, looms, electrics, trim, forks, brakes etc) I just start to glaze over. It’s all easy stuff, but I don’t get the same surge of enthusiasm as when I’m tuning and building engines. There’s something about the power of an engine that just captivates me.
So, my method of maintaining momentum is to try to distract myself with something ‘shiny’ on each section of the build; do something practical, then do something shiny. For example, I fit a loom, then I fit a new seat. I fit a set of cables, then I fit some new uprated rims, and so on. It’s a bit like a parent distracting a badly behaved child with a toy.
