Even if a few riders were caught out by cloudbursts on Friday, few will argue that the ride into Whitby is one of the most scenic in the Nationals’ calendar. In fact I’d argue that it’s among the most scenic backdrops to a rally in the world. As is tradition for the east coast opening rally, this year the National rotated from Scarborough to the picturesque town of Whitby.
