Stompies Resort is located next to the Stompdrift Dam, the largest dam in the Little Karoo with a 25 km shoreline. The dam on the Olifants River was completed in 1965, with the wall standing a mighty 37 m high and 400 m long. Its water is primarily used for irrigation purposes.
