IT WASN’T what anyone expected – a show of love and warmth for his family in the UK and a promise to spend more time with them.
Was this the same Harry who’d spent the better part of the past four years lobbing one salvo after the next at his family and lambasting the institution he’d been reared in?
It sure was. Harry, pink-cheeked and smiling in the snow in Whistler, Canada, seemed to be extending a rather long olive branch to his once nearest and dearest.
The reason for his apparent softening? His father’s cancer diagnosis. After King Charles called his younger son to inform him of his illness, Harry embarked on a whistle-stop visit to see his “Pa” in London before heading back to California.
Some critics questioned why Harry had even bothered if all he’d got was a mere half-hour with his dad – but the Duke of Sussex justified his visit in his recent interview on the ski slopes.
“The fact that I was able to get on a plane and go and see him and spend any time with him – I’m grateful for that,” he told Good Morning
