MF 6100 & 8100 SERIES

In 1995, AGCO – the new owner of MF – launched the new Massey Ferguson 6100 and 8100 Series of tractors, replacing the groundbreaking 3000, 3100 and 3600 ranges. Those machines had changed the very nature of tractor design back in mid-1980s and evolved to become a truly successful product line that catapulted their maker ahead of the competition in many respects.

However, almost 10 years later, the time had come to reinvigorate the concept, and the launch of the new 6100 and 8100 Series machines certainly did that, with the new arrivals bringing with them a whole raft of new features and improvements.

The erstwhile 3000 and 3100 Series were more than adequately replaced by the new 6100 range, as we saw in Part 2 of this series, but, this time, we’ll be turning our attention to the tractors that were set to replace the higher-horsepower
