MASSEY FERGUSON 3000 SERIES

Electronics had featured in agricultural tractors before the arrival of the Massey Ferguson 3000 Series in 1986 but, after that launch, there had been a seismic shift in how farmers regarded electronic control and computer systems onboard their tractors.

As we’ve seen in this series of articles featuring the design, introduction and evolution of the Massey Ferguson 3000, 3100 and 3600 Series, these tractors marked a paradigm shift in terms of how farm tractors were conceived, built and used. Before 1986, most popular tractors were purely mechanical in nature, utilising little or no electronics. But, following the introduction of the Massey Ferguson 3000 Series in that year, everything changed forever!
