Vladimir Putin claims he prefers Joe Biden in the White House over Donald Trump

Vladimir Putin has said he would prefer Joe Biden to win the US election over Donald Trump.

The Russian leader made the comment on Wednesday, when a correspondent from Russian state television asked who would be a better choice from the point of view of Russia.

Putin said: "Biden, he's more experienced, more predictable, he's a politician of the old formation.

“But we will work with any US leader whom the American people trust."Putin's comments were his first about the upcoming US presidential election, likely to pit.However, Mr Trump's recent statements calling into question US funding for and saying he wants to shake up the alliance could better serve Putin.
