We need iron in our diet to make red blood cells to transport oxygen around the body. ‘Low iron can cause extreme tiredness and fatigue,’ says nutritionist Rob Hobson. If you’re worried you might be anaemic, ask your GP for a blood test to check your iron levels. Your doctor can prescribe iron tablets to help.
