I was born in the UK in 1938. My best subjects at school were art and English, and after leaving school at 15 years of age, I entered as an apprentice into the fledging printing and packaging industry.

As a family we came to Australia in 1986, where I was employed in the same industry, and eventually retired to Queensland from NSW (Sydney) in 1998.
