About this ebook

Where does creativity lie? Does it sit at the forefront of our minds or is hidden under the shadows? Author Nawshaba Khuda’s work explores the depths of both her creativity and the artistic endeavors of her late father Hamidur Rahman. Delving into their shared passion, in STILL, Nawshaba creates a connection between both the past and the present by using the foundation her father left her in order to go deeper into the recess of her mind and past to bring out her views on the human experience through art. In her personal journey, Nawshaba hopes that we can all find the artist in ourselves and use it to shine a light on the world around us.

    Dedication

To my ten year old self,

who always dreamed of writing and publishing a book.

    To,

    Amma,

whose interest in this and all my ventures was

never less than my own…love you always…

    My children,

    my breath of fresh air…

    My husband,

your love is one of my favorite presents…

My father, artist Hamidur Rahman was an extraordinary man.

A legend in his own time.  Through his work and love I was inspired and developed my own self-expression through poetry.  This book brings my writings to life, if it touches your heart you’ve found something of yourself in them.

My father passed away in 1988, thirty-two years ago.  One thing I can say for sure is that death changes everything and time changes nothing,  time only allows one space, to realign themselves…

I miss hearing his voice and the many stories of his life.

I miss standing in his presence and being able to feel his warmth…

How did life manage to change so suddenly?  The deep ache still exists, except now my father has become closer to my heart and deeper in my soul.

This book will take you on a journey between my father’s amazing career and my poetry side by side.

People’s lives are intertwined, at best, it is superimposed on one another.

    Hamidur Rahman- Painter, Muralist
