JANUARY
GET YOUR STATS
GATHER DATA ON how your body’s doing. By January 31, ask a doctor to write you an Rx for a blood test—then go to a lab and fill it. Your age and health determine which metrics to collect, but they often include a metabolic panel (which includes blood glucose level and kidney and liver function) and a lipid panel (cholesterol, triglycerides, ApoB, etc.). Get your blood pressure checked, too. These numbers can help you figure out which goals to tackle first. If your stats are great, congrats. Now work on how you’ll keep them that way.
