Reaching for the blandest food in the house, I couldn’t have anything spicy.

And even then, rice or crackers would be enough to trigger a bit of sick to rise in my throat.

That was before I could even think about tending to my daughter Anjana, then six months old.

‘This pregnancy is different to the first,’ I winced to my husband Rupok, now 34, as he tried to help me.

After finding out that we were expecting a boy in November 2018, it came as a surprise, especially as Anjana was still just a baby at the time.
