WITH four nameplates breaking through the five-figure barrier, and a station totem sign coming within a hair's breadth of doing the same, GWRA boss Simon Turner had every cause to smile after his November 11/12 auction – and smile he did.
The GWR led the victory parade with a £19,000 realisation for from No. 6010, followed by LNER contender from Peppercorn A1 No. 60141 at £15,500, from GWR No. 7015 (£13,500), and from LMS Jubilee No. 45586, which went for £10,500.
