Preserved shunters move to new homes

RECENT weeks have seen little activity among the shunters remaining in use with main line operators, but this has been compensated for by several developments concerning preserved machines.

Unusually, much of this has centred on the Class 03s, where several sales have gone through. On November 1, No. D2051 departed the North Norfolk Railway after 23 years of inactivity, much of it spent at Holt, having been sold following the death of its owner. The part-restored shunter was delivered to the Telford Steam Railway the following day.
