In an ideal world, we’d only need to ride in warm, sunny weather, thoroughly enjoying our time progressing along dry, grippy roads. But that idyllic, convenient world only exists in a very few places on earth.
Here in the UK, such heavenly circumstances usually occur for only a few weeks each year in total, and not always for long, uninterrupted periods. Even so, regardless of whether you must ride, or do so voluntarily, when the weather’s not at its best, journeys don’t have to be miserable. Plenty of rewards, or even some pleasure can still be derived from soldiering on, though. It’s all a question of going about things in the best possible way.
