A You can take really good landscapes in any conditions, Courtney. Have a look at the various winning images from the Landscape Photographer of the Year competition over the years, and you’ll see images taken in bright sunshine, mist, and even driving rain that have made the cut. It’s not so much about the conditions, but rather how you as a photographer adapt to them and tell your story.
For me, changeable conditions tend to give the most dynamic and potentially dramatic options for photography. I don’t want bright blue skies and too much sunshine making my photos look like something you might see in a travel brochure or on a chocolate box.
