Rise in numbers of missing persons

SUBSTANCE abuse, human trafficking, and domestic and financial problems are among the reasons for the increase in the number of missing adults and children in South Africa.

Dawn Gounden, the founder of Renegade Search and Rescue, said her team assisted the police with cases nationwide.

“We get between five and 10 new missing person cases daily. I have a team of more than 100 volunteers. We use our own resources to assist families and the police,” said Gounden.
