What is the variety like?

Popular and exceptionally attractive. When the mutation first appeared it was bright and brought loads of enthusiasm to the hobby. We all thought it would be a life-line to the hobby. Spangles were very different. It was all about markings: the wing markings and the spots.

The wing markings were a black edging to the feathers. The spots were fascinating: their centre of the spot was clear and the outside black. They became known as “bull’s eye” spots.
